I was inside the lift of my apartment when the door opened, made way for this lady with her toddler sitting in the stroller. I could tell the toddler is around 1 year old, because he could only blabber a few meaningless phrases. The minute they stepped into the lift, the toddler kept looking at me, while blabbering “papa… papa… papa…”.

Instinctively and subconsciously, the word “Yeah?” blurted out of my mouth. I could sense the lady immediately gave me this how-dare-you-pretend-to-be-my-son’s-dad look. I don’t know why I said such stupid word. Awkward. The second the door opened, I rushed out in embarrassment.

Moral of the story: think before you speak, and speak what you really think.

Feeling Fruity

I just finished haircut and was thirsty like a dry sponge this afternoon. So I went to QV to look for a nice cold juice, and stumbled across Feeling Fruity, one of juice bars in and around Melbourne. So I went in to browse the choice of “cocktails” available. The attendant greeted me with standard line, and I told her to give me a minute to go through the menu.

I giggled in my head when I saw one of the drink on offer. It was actually a mix of mango, watermelon, lemon, and a few more fruits. But the name really intrigued me. French Kiss.

Me: Can I have French Kiss please?
At: Would you like it short and sweet, or long, deep, and intense?
Me: Short and sweet. And not too wet please.
At: Sure… come here, open your mouth, and close your eyes.

Then I realised I was actually day-dreaming in front of the counter. So I went and ordered the French Kiss to see how it taste like. It’s $5.65 for a jumbo Kiss. Damn expensive. And far from my expectation.

I’m looking forward to tomorrow. Not that I’m expecting to be chased by some psychopath or to come across brain-eating zombies. No, not that dramatic.

There are thirteen good reason why tomorrow is my favorite Friday 13:

Wang Lee Hom’s officially launching his latest album, The 18 Martial Arts.
Tickets to Michael Buble’s fourth and final concert in Melbourne next year goes on sale.

The other 11 reasons is for the each of us going up to Falls Creek for our 2010 Winter Trip tomorrow for a 2-night vacation.

Everything starts with a dream.

A dream turns into a wish.

A wish slowly becomes hope.

Along with hope, comes excitement.

Excitement heightens expectation.

Expectation leads to disappointment.

Disappointment accumulates and becomes frustration.

Prolonged frustration turns into despair.

Despair goes beyond blue.

Then, another dream will appear out of the blue.

There are ups and downs in life. When your life is going south, you have no choice but to move on and get over with it. Slowly and painfully. Until the better days arrive.
